Kadapa/Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday kick-started bus yatra as part of campaigning to seek reflection of YSRCP to govern the State for another term.
Rayalaseema saw an increase in political temperatures with TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu, after spending some time at his native Kuppam segment, addressed an impressive roadshow at Palamaner in Chittoor district.
After offering prayers to his father Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at his samadhi at Idupulapaya and seeking blessings from his mother Vijayamma, the Chief Minister undertook the tour of Kadapa Parliamentary Constituency and addressed a public meeting at Proddatur amid much fanfare. Party leaders made elaborate arrangements for the bus yatra on the first day.
Addressing a huge meeting at Proddatur, he said the YSRCP had won the hearts of the people for launching revolutionary welfare schemes to improve the living conditions of the people and alleged the three-party alliance by TDP, BJP and Jana Sena Party as opportunistic. He said the progress achieved during the past five years will derail if the people fall for the misleading campaign by the TDP and its allies.
Naidu told a meeting at Palamaner that the people should be aware of the sinister designs by Jagan Mohan Reddy to loot the exchequer through various scams and described him as a traitor of Rayalaseema. He said the future of the State will be safe if a double-engine government is ensured by giving a massive mandate to the TDP-BJP-JSP. He said the Centre’s support is required to ensure all round development of Andhra Pradesh and to build Amaravati as the capital.
